The 17U girls did not disappoint as they started the AVA season at the first provincial tournament this weekend.  Strong play and a solid work ethic placed them first in their pool after the round robin, squaring off against RAVC 18, Evolution and the Jr. Kodiaks out of Lethbridge.  They closed the day Saturday with consistent effort in the crossover match against the Olds Jr. 18 Broncos, rallying to a win, placing them in the hunt for a Division 1 ranking. The quarterfinal match Sunday morning brought a formidable opponent in the U18 Junior Dinos; the girls played with heart forcing the Dinos to earn every point. Coming up short against the Dinos, the girls regrouped and focused on the next match against a strong Cougars U17 team.  A solid attack, strong serving and consistent defense, precipitated a convincing win and solidified a spot in Division 1 at the next Premiere. Congratulations ladies on a well-deserved 5th place finish overall!
