The 403 Selects 16U girls went into VA Provincial Championships with everything to prove. An upset in the crossover game of VA Premier #3 resulted in a finish on the back side of the playoff draw. Some opponents had wrote the team off from being capable to compete with the best in the province.
403 emerged in 3rd place after competitive round robin matches. This time, in a rematch from the previous tournament against Canuck Red in the crucial crossover match would end in Selects’ favour. The team of purple and black held off a strong Canuck team to win in three sets and booked a date with St. Paul Rage in the quarterfinals.
St. Paul was also a previous adversary this season. In the second VA Premier tournament, Rage and 403 battled to a 19-17 St. Paul win in three tight sets.  403 Selects were hot out the gate Sunday morning and rolled over Rage in straight sets.
403’s semi final opponent was Pandas. In a game with several thrilling, marathon rallies, Pandas won 2-0. Selects then dropped the bronze medal match to Canuck Black.
Special recognition goes out to 16U libero Michaela White, who played an outstanding weekend of volleyball and was awarded a provincial all star.
