Our U18 girls went into this weekend’s VA #2 tournament in Edmonton with lots of momentum following success in Phoenix three weeks earlier and a strong showing in VA #1. On Saturday, they swept their pool play with only surrendering one set. In the critical cross-over game, they put in a yeoman effort against the Nooks and swept the match. This moved our girls into the quarterfinals on Sunday. They played SAS (St. Albert/Sturgeon Volleyball Club). It was a hard-fought match, which ended in three sets. SAS came up on top…it was a hard pill to swallow for our girls especially after dominating set #2. They went on to regroup and won the two remaining games to finish with a 6-1 record and 5th place showing. The third and final VA Premier tournament #3 will be held in Calgary April 2nd and 3rd.
