The U13 Girls finished the season off with taking home the provincial championship. We were undefeated all weekend and finished first in our pool. We met the Taber Wham in the semi finals winning 15-11 and 25-6 and then came up against the NAVC Pandas, which had been one of our rivals throughout the season. The girls came out and played some of the best ball they played all season and finished the final in two sets. All of the hard work the girls put in throughout the season finally paid off and became one of the most memorable moments for the team.

The next weekend found us at U14 Nationals in Saskatoon. The weekend turned out to be a great learning experience and great team bonding experience to finish the season off. The first day we ended 4th in our pool however our final round robin match we beat the Canada West 14U 25-20 and 25-21 which was an important learning experience as the girls were capable with competing with these 14U teams. The second day we finished first in our pool, which placed us into Division 2 Tier 3. We fought a hard semi-final match to move us into the finals where the exhaustion of the weekend was evident and we came up short. We finished 2nd in Division 3 Tier 3 and overall proved to be an amazing learning experience for the team competing in a U14 tournament. Nationals gave the girls a taste of what to expect next year.

Overall, the final two weeks of the season were very exhilarating and winning the U13 provincial championships will be forever memorable. All of the girl’s passion and love for the game were evident throughout their improvement over the season. They truly live, laugh, and love the game!
