403 Selects Volleyball Club is committed to providing an elite level volleyball experience for all 403 Selects athletes. Hiring staff takes time and placing the right coaches in the right place is critical for this success. Patience and perseverance has paid off as we have found an amazing leader in our new 16U head coach.

Russ is an exceptional coach and with the experience and expertise he has from both playing and coaching (see bio below) and his coaching philosophy, the athletes in his program will see much growth and development and success in the upcoming season. Russ will be running open courts for athletes to have an opportunity to meet this new 403 Selects Volleyball Club staff member

  • 2016 Club season FOE Men’s 18U Assistant coach
  • NCCP level 2
  • 2 years 12u boys with the wolves club in GP
  • 4 years tigers club in Halifax 16 u boys
  • 2 years VCCE developmental coach, first in Atlantic Canada – both boys ad girls
  • 2011-2015 Dalhousie University assistant coach : responsible for all video scouting, stat tracking and interpreting. 3 AUS championships and 4th place finish at nationals
  • Co-founder and head coach of Feel the Burn Beach Volleyball (now HFX beach volleyball) from 2012-14 (three seasons) saw development and growth in the sport of beach volleyball over
  • 100% growth over three years – Boys and Girls
  • 16 u boys indoor provincial team coach in 2012
  • 14-18 u boys and girls beach volleyball provincial team coach in 2012
  • Head coach of a number of camps throughout the year in NS – Boys and Girls

As a player:

  • Tournament all star for 18u national champions Canuck YQM 2005
  • 2 years starting setter in grande prairie
  • 3 year starting setter one year captain at Dalhousie university
  • 3 Aus championships
  • 4th place finish at nationals
