“Go big or go home” was the U18 motto going into Vegas. The team wanted to use the time to bond and get to know each other better while in the US, and have an opportunity to “run all the horses” against some big American teams who play a different style of game. Game play tactics continued to experiment with an array of line-ups, trying players in different positions, and experimenting with the USA’s different rules. Moving up after finishing second in our pool play on day one put us in tough after that which was valuable. Valuable and eye-opening lessons were learned, and the girls continued to prove their composure with tough losses. The other opportunity was team bonding time, which we maximized at the start of the trip. A great experience to see if you were a “first timer” to Vegas. We are grateful to the 403 Club for this opportunity in our senior year!
