Parents and players braved the icy roads and white out conditions to get to Canmore on Sat morning. The girls all made it safely and we’re excited to start playing.

Caroline volleyball club were our first match. We won the first set 25-13, girls were getting their feet under them and had some good saves and hits. We won the 2nd set 25-17 with some great moments as a team and some exciting rallies.

The second team was TSAVC. First set we won 25-20, girls had some ups and downs but fought for each point. We won the second game 25-15. With both these wins we placed first in our pool and got a well deserved break where the girls and coaches had time to review their playing and prepare them for the semi-finals.

The semi final match was against the home team, RMVC Rockies. The girls had a close match, some excellent rallies, they were down by 6 points early in the game but fought back to take the win 27-25. The second match was a hard fought game, some great hits, blocks and Hustle by the girls and they won 25-20.

On to the finals!

The finals were against the Vulcan Vipers. In the first set, they started strong and then it was nail biter to the end and won 25-23. The second game was very close, moments of great game play, but couldn’t quite take it, losing 27-26. However, in the 3rd and final match the girls came out ready to play and won 15-11.

The girls were tired but very happy and them came home with GOLD! Way to go girls!
