The 14U team volunteered at “My Best Friend’s Closet” a couple of weeks ago which is a branch of the association “Making Changes”. They had such a positive attitude and did a great job helping with sorting, steaming and packing clothes and shoes. The director of this organization explained to the girls that “My Best Friend’s Closet” provides teenage girls from low-income homes (ages 12-18) with a broad selection of fashionable and functional clothing to meet their back to school and recreational needs. Not only did they help that night but they also brought in some clothing donations. This is a great organization for all teenage girls to help at since they are helping girls their age that aren’t as fortunate as they are. The girls enjoyed volunteering and it brought them a lot closer as a team to do a good deed.

If you’d like to help, the director explained to us that sports shoes and clothing is one of the most needed item. If you have some kicking around, they would appreciate the donation. Check out their website for more info: http://www.makingchangesassociation.ca.
