Day 1

403 Selects started strong on Saturday locking in a win against Velocity in their first match. They won the first set with a close 26-24 score and then decided to really turn it on in set two with a 25-13 win. The girls were hitting well and digging all sorts of hits. It was exciting to see them anticipating and being in the right spot to make plays.

403 had to work hard in Match #2 against SEAVC Rattlers. Even though they lost their first set 21-25, they came back and battled to win 25-16 in set 2 and then won set 3 with a close 15-13 score. A series of killer serves brought the Selects back from what would have been a tough loss. The Selects never slowed up from that point on and earned a solid win.

The girls continued working hard in Match #3 but realized quickly in Set 1 they had met their match. The Fog Hawks (Edmonton) came out strong and made it difficult for the Selects to recover. 403 lost Set 1 25-7 but the athletes didn’t lose their spirit. They kept cheering each other on and celebrated every point. Even though they lost their second set 25-11, they still demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship throughout the entire match. Many congratulations to the coaches for celebrating wins and losses together as a unified team.

Day 2

First thing Sunday morning, 403 started strong, quickly taking a 9-2 lead against Ice (Red Deer) but lost their momentum and ended up losing the set 21-25. Although they lost the second set 11-25, they kept working hard against a tough serving team.

In their last match of the day against Pandas Kaizen, the Selects lost a heartbreaking first set 23-25, but ended up winning the match with scores 25-12 in Set 2 and 15-8 in Set 3.

They ended VA 2 on a great note, finishing 5th in Division 1. The coaches were extremely proud of the team and looking forward to being at their peak at provincials.

Great job 403 Selects!!
