“It doesn’t matter if we are playing 14, 15, 16U’s, we are hungry and we want to win” : Alex

Saturday saw our 14U girls attend a 15/16U preseason tournament at the Volleydome. The girls came out with a strong start to the season enjoying some early success and continuing to gel as a squad. Finishing 3rd in their pool on a points countback they fought their way through the pool B playoffs beating TSA 16U and SAVC 15U girls to meet the Canuks 15U girls in the final, Halla said “our momentum was up and then would go down but we just kept digging to turn the score around“; unfortunately due to time constraints they were only able to play 1 set which the girls lost 25-19 in a spirited match with lots of great rallies and with both teams working their defense hard. Taylor commented at the end of the day “That was a lot of fun! We just want to keep playing!“.

Coach Mike was happy with the teams first outing “The girls are working hard and having fun, what more can you ask for?

All around a very solid start to the season and a great base from which to build.

The teams next outing will be at the Lethbridge 15U tournament on the 23rd of January.
