The 14U team headed out on the road (literally) up to Penhold for the 15U CAQVC Spikefest this past weekend.  Being an eight team single pool round robin tournament the girls were in for two busy days of volleyball.  Throughout the round robin matches the girls really came to compete… taking three matches by winning both sets.  In the other four games, they split the sets but always came within a few points of winning both.  Serving and passing aggressively, the 403 14U’s looked great and finished the round robin play ranked 3rd with a total of 10 set wins out of a possible 14!  After narrowly dropping the first set to Caroline 15U 24-26, the team came back to win the second set 25-19 and then played a solid third set, 15-10, to take the match.  The team now heads to the practice court to continue preparing for their first VA Premier with one more stop in Edmonton for another 15U tournament in February.  Great team building this weekend, by all accounts the girls, coaches and parents had a great weekend!  Keep it up 14u’s!
