403 Selects 13U completed a remarkable run this season winning the 2015 Provincial Championships in Edmonton on April 18-19. During pool play, opening matches against Nova and Wham! provided an abundance of unforced errors and lacklustre play by 403. Team highlights up to this point included receiving a red card for cheering (no cheering for you, little robots). Some signs of life started to emerge in the final pool play game against Ravens and gave the Selects some glimmer of hope in the all-important cross-over match with Lady Rhinos. A consistent top 5 finisher in previous Premiers, Rhinos uncharacteristically finished second in their pool and made for a difficult matchup to end the day. Day 2 was filled with exciting and come-from-behind matches against the athletic Pandas Kaizen and hard-hitting Wolves Red teams, setting up a final with South Peace Volleyball Club. An aggressive attacking, well-coached squad, SPVC pushed the match to 3 sets and made for a thrilling final for all involved. By the end, the 403 Selects had managed to come through another challenging tournament on top. The team finished with gold in Premier 1, Premier 2 and Provincials, winning 21 consecutive matches in the process. Congratulations girls on an impressive and memorable achievement!
